ALLIANCE COMMITTEE VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

The Greater Williamsburg Chamber & Tourism Alliance needs your participation and expertise.

Joining a committee is a great way to network and to get to know your fellow members. It can also be a lot of fun.

If you, or a member of your staff, are not active on a committee, please consider serving on one of the following.

Ambassadors - Serve as the communication link between the Greater Williamsburg Chamber & Tourism Alliance staff and members, thus improving retention.

Annual Dinner - Semi-formal membership dinner and dance.

Armed Forces - Promotes the economic impact of a viable relationship between military and civilian sectors. Sponsors forums and the Military Citizens of the Year award.

Chamber Challenge - Greater Williamsburg Chamber and Tourism Alliance members network and compete in a fun-filled round of golf at one of the area's primer courses, with a Captain's Choice shotgun start format. A variety of prizes are awarded.

Christmas Parade - A community holiday event held the first Saturday in December.

Economic Progress - Monitors the various elements impacting economic development and expansion; and provides programs to inform the membership.

Government Affairs - Represents business community at local municipal level; monitors proposed state and national legislation and keeps membership informed on legislative issues while encouraging feedback.

Job Fair - An annual event offering employers the opportunity to solicit employees in a trade show atmosphere. About 40 exhibitors attend with an average of 500 job seekers.

Membership - Reviews and recommends policy on issues impacting all members including investment structure, benefit programs, etc. Actively seeks new members.

Oktoberfest - Annual membership outing providing members the opportunity to interact in a relaxed setting with a German atmosphere.

Taste of Williamsburg - Annual specialty tasting event showcasing area member restaurants.
