Applications are now available for the
Alliance's annual Armed Forces Committee Scholarship. This
scholarship program is designed to assist active duty, retired
military, family dependents of active duty personnel, and
honorably discharged military students to attend college. To be
eligible, applicants must be within their second semester of
college or beyond; have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better; and
work, live or attend school within the Alliance service area.
To download application forms and instructions click here. Completed scholarship application packages must be submitted by July 12, 2013. Awards will be presented prior to the 2013 Fall Semester.
The Armed Forces Committee Scholarship program was established by the Alliance in 1997. "This scholarship initiative is one of the many ways we show pride in the service given to our nation by our military and our appreciation for the value and contributions made by the military presence in our area" said Janice Lewis, chair of the Armed Forces Committee's Veterans Support group.
