Run for the Dream Half Marathon, 8K Run/Walk and Kids Fun Run Both the half marathon (Sunday) and 8K (Saturday) begin at Phi Beta Kappa Hall (600 Jamestown Road) on the picturesque campus of The College of William & Mary, wind through Colonial Williamsburg’s famous Historic Area, and end with a picture perfect finish at William & Mary’s Zable Stadium. The half marathon also includes the scenic Colonial Parkway toward the James River. The race director is Dave McGillivray, race director of the Boston Marathon. The Kids Fun Run on Saturday takes place at Zable Stadium and includes three lengths: 100 meter sprint, 400 meter dash and a mile run. The Run for the Dream 8K has been named the 2012 USA Masters 8 km Championships by USA Track and Field (USATF). All runners receive a commemorative shirt, drawstring backpack and first-class finisher medal. Participants in the Kids Fun Run receive a finisher medal. The first 3,000 registered half marathon runners receive a FREE one-day park pass to Busch Gardens, Williamsburg to be used May 18-20, 2012. Colonial Williamsburg is providing free single-day Historic Area passes (valid May 19-20) for the first 6,000 participants. Both attractions are also offering ticket discounts for family and friends. A Race Expo will be held Friday and Saturday at the Colonial Williamsburg Woodlands Conference Center. Special hotel rates are available at Colonial Williamsburg hotels.
